How to get the best snapshot?

I capture a movie at 576 x 704 PAL (Mjpeg) and play this video in pc/vcr. When i pauze the video, i wanna take a snapshot from this.
In the pref's from pc/vcr i get the highest possible quality. Then i look at the preferences of the jpeg pic what i made and i am seeing that the reolution is 300 x 300.
Also in Msp6 the same problem, and more stripes in the picture with different settings.
Does anybody know how to get a highquality snapshot of my captured movie?
Or is there another software?
I have a Marvel G400tv.

You'd be better off to do a RGB capture of a single frame of video from your original video tape, not from your captured video (which has already been compressed).
