New Matrox PC-VCR 2.0

Ok, been reading about the new Matrox PC-VCR software that is going to come with the 450eTV. It sounds nice. Anyone had a chance to try this with their RR-G yet? Does it work at all?

With everything being in software, what prevents this software from working with the RRG or G400 Marvel and allowing them to software capture MPEG2?

Unfortunately the G400 version will be different. In this thread on Matrox Technical Support Forum you can read:
Because of royalty fees and contractual reasons, we cannot put this up on the web site because it will include the Ligos mpeg2 codec. We will have to have a different build for the Marvel G200/G400 clients.

Ok, then could there be an upgrade fee? The question was will it work...

What about a version for download without the MPEG2 codec for people that have it from ULEAD Media Studio Pro6 or other places?

Or are we supposed to have N copies of the damn thing laying around our system leading to MPEG2 DLL-hell?

Don´t worry, guys, by the time it hits the street there will be n ways to hack it down to work with the G400
