Using Digital8 analog-in to interface other camera formats...
I'm sort of humbled by this idea that I have... If the Digital8 line has A/D converters and 500 line "deck" resolution (despite their low-quality lens/CCD assemblies), they can be used as some rather nice digital drives for any format of camera you attach through their S-video/Composite inputs!
I'm going to go hunting for different styles of high resolution cameras, whether or not their tape drive assemblies work. Digital8 may actually pay off as the Swiss Army Knife of low-cost video!
