Hi Folks
In an effort to capture a lot of older VHS tapes I picked up a jvc hr-s9911u vcr with on-board tbc.
The tbc certainly eliminates the massive glitches from the captures but the image seems to get massive (horizontal) jitter now. In reading the manual, if tbc is on, video stabilization is off.
The result is a glitch-free image but framedrops in the 1,000's per hour of video. In most cases, it trips up the g400-tv and it gives me the macrovision detected error. I tried applying the macrovision patch (the link here doesn't seem to work anymore but it was easily found via google) but it gives me an 'invalid file size' error. I'll need to check but am pretty sure that I'm using the latest/last video tools, etc..
So...couple questions for the group:
1) How can I use the vcr to get a stable, non-glitchy capture? Would one of those old, cheap video stabilizers work? If so, any know of a good but cheap one?
2) What can I do to eliminate the macrovision detection?
Thanks (yet again) for any guidance you can provide.
