    MainActor for Linux?

    Hi,

I remember seeing a version of MainActor for Linux. Does anyone know if this still exists? I noticed the downloads from MainConcept's site does not include a Linux version.

    Thanks

      Thanks!

I read under the v3 forums that there is going to be a Linux release for v5. They are going to have a public test release first.

This is good news! I am slowly moving to Linux. Having a nice video editor to work with would be very helpful for the transition.

I doubt Ulead MSP is going to support Linux any time soon. There are other packages out there, but MainActor seems to fit the bill.

I also read that the commercial copy of Suse Linux comes with MainActor v3.

Check out Ebay for prople selling Suse (8.2) Linux Professional. It comes with Mainactor version 3.7xx. While this isn't the latest and greatest version it is specifically advertised on Suse's website. If they took the time to promote it, they must be pretty confident in it's abilities to work well under their OS.

I have picked up Suse 8.2 Professional but haven't had the chance to load it in yest. Maybe this Weekend I will give it a try.

Note: The "Personal" edition of 8.2 does include Mainactor.
