For the last year I have tried what I think is just about everything to solve my problem but alas... The source of my grief is a videocard : the G450 eTV .
My misgivings occur precisely thirty seconds after playing back captured video. No matter what software I use to playback (Adobe Premier, Ulead, Intervideo, Windows Movie Maker., Windows Media...) everything turns Parkinsonian (choppy playback occurs). During capture no frames are lost (or so is indicated).
I've had a more computer savvy friend work on the problem. He tried several driver version including different vid tools (2.04 to 3.0), downloaded the latest inf and chipset utilities from Intel (since I have a 845e chipset type motherboard), also updated my Windows XP Pro (SP1) and Media Player 9 with the latest fixes, installed DirectX 9.0a, he formatted my Hard Drives to NTFS using 4096 clusters ... nothing. I always shut down all programs when capturing (including those loaded at start up) and tried inserting diskette in ¾ drive to see if that makes a difference.
I’ve exchanged several messages with the Matrox Forum moderator who answered “Its rather strange - if this was an issue then every G450etv client would post / email/ or call it in” and proposed several solutions none of which worked : http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/For...ML/006484.html
Before moving on to more final and drastic mesures I’ve come to you’all... Has anyone experienced the same problem and has anyone found a solution?

- Asus P4B533 with latest Bios
- 512MB PC2600 DDR Ram,
- 2 Maxtor 7200 RPM ATA 100 HDs (2nd used for capture only)
- G450 eTV
