    MSPRO7 and WMP

I've just installed MSPRO7 and it works fine, encodes to mpg great. The problem is that since installing it Windows Media player will no longer play mpegs. It will start up then begin to play (black) then it shuts straight down.

    Any ideas folks?

    Cheers

    Mike

    MPEG-1, 2 or 4? Have you got DX9 installed?

MPG 2 is not working, MPG 1 is ok.

Yes I do have DX9 installed.

Sounds like you don't have a MPEG-2 codec installed. Because you can encode, doesn't mean you can decode without a 3rd party codec.

          Hi Brian,

Everything was fine before installing MSP7 and PowerDVD still works ok.

Yes I know I can do that, but I would still like to know why it's stopped working properly.
