I'd jump to 64 bits when I see the performance gains to justify the price. These early media encoding tests I found show sub P4 performance so far! (for what I care about most).
Sure 4-8GB RAM systems will be good for Micron and therefore Boise, but PC3200 RAM seems to be running about $250-300/GB. Gonna take some serious performace gains to justify the price along with ~$700 CPUs.
Only my largest photoshop projects showed any worthwhile gains in going from 768MB to 1.5GB RAM (which was why I did it). Noticed no improvement in MSP6.52a.
