    Pal tuner wanted

Does anybody have a spare "blue box" for a Marvel G200 with a PAL tuner, that he or she would like to sell? Mine has no tuner.
I could buy one of these $50 tv cards, of course, but I have no more IRQ's available...

I have one from my G400. If you can get me a cable that allows me to directly hook the Svideo I/O to the Marvel card I won't need it anymore.

I very much dislike this bulky box and the thick long cable.

If this offer is serious, I'll see what I can do. The problem will be getting a mini-D connector with so many pins...
Which country do you live in, by the way?

I'm half serious; I already contemplated cutting the cable of the box near the plug and soldering on Svideo females.

But I am first looking into the new e450. If it grabs YUV I may sell the Marvel G400, and I guess I'd better leave it whole if that should happen.

Still, if that doesn't happen, and you'd be able to supply me with a good quality alternative... I'm located a bit to the south of you btw... :-)

          Hi Arthur,

I’ve got a PAL blue box for a G400TV, which you can have with my compliments.

When I had my “green flash” problems, Matrox only wanted the card back not the blue box, but sent me a complete package in return.

          Kind regards,

          Nick.

Don't forget that the tuner section of the UK and Euro version of the blue box is different !

You are right, Chris, the sound subcarrier in UK is not at the same frequency as in the rest of Europe. If I remember correctly, this is called PAL-I, whereas most countries in Europe use PAL-BG. Or SECAM for the Frenchies.

I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
If I switch it on it is even worse.

I have a Canadian G200 with PAL Tuner. Its NOT the UK model. But with a little tweeking in the registry to get the sound working as well as the TV picture, it works perfect.

After a system rebuild recently I lost all the settings. - but luckily doing a search here in the archives for this subject about 10 months ago - voila all my own tips were here. Thanks Ant, because I would have been #@#@#! without it. As I had forgotton how I did it. I can remember setting the Country to Turkey instead of UK. ANd the you have to go to the registry and enter 'I THINK its the german sond subcarrier settings'not sure. Do a search for Turkey or Biker for about a year ago on.

                Best of luck.
