    what´s the muxerrate?

    last times I used tmpeg for encoding miy futurama episodes I recorded from tv (before I used panasonic mpeg encoder). when I try to burn a vcd with this file nero5 and winoncd3.7 Iget a message "invalid muxerrate". what the heck is this muxerrate and can i fix my files without reencoding them?

      There is a freeware utility MPEG-Corrector. It helped me with the same trouble. If you can't it, drop me a message at <an@nsys.by> and I'll send it you in *.ZIP file. It is about 200kb.

          Well, after weeks of research I stil don´t know what the muxerrate is. But I know a cure for "invalid" mpeg files:
          Basic Demulitiplexing and Basic Multiplexing the mpeg file corrects the content somehow.

          MPEG-Corrector didn´t work. Thanks anyway Anatoly

                      SVCD has different header information and packet structures than regular mpg. In order for it become SVCD compliant it must be encoded or demultiplexed to seperate elementary video and audio streams and then muxed with an SVCD compliant multipexer. I had the same problem and found the same solution. It is not very time consuming a fix (thank God), but one that is overlooked a lot of times. I have heard of some people being able to encode staight to .mpg and have it work, but my experience has not provided such good fortune. Atleast you have a fix.

                          I'm about the same point on the learning curve of SVCD as y'all are, but it seems to me that Nero 5.0.3.8 handles the SVCD mux issue automatically. Or are you not using the TMPGEnc SVCD template for encoding?

                          All I did was encode in TMPGEnc using SVCD template and create SVCD with Nero. Disk played in WinDVD 2.3 and an Apex player at Circuit City, I need to do more testing.

                              That's the setup I use and it works just fine in my APEX 660.
