I need some help - mpeg-2 file has errors !

I'm looking for software or method that will allow me to edit a movie file (mpeg-2) that has 2 places with errors.

UMSP Video Editor will crash when it arrives to the first error and will not allow me to scrub to that point.

Have tried sevral software without success.

have you tried converting the video ? eg. umsp ...file... convert... then to mpeg2 ( i assume a dvd compliant format)?
This is just a guess, you hadn't given many details of format mpeg2 , size, data rate ,audio , does it play in any player, etc.

Problem solved ! I played the movie in WinDVD (with a few glitches but it played) and re-captured it on my other machine then edited out bad frames.
