    PCI latency timer

My AMIBIOS has a lot of capabilities but unfortunately the manual that came with the mobo does not describe many of the features in the desired detail.

My PCI latency timer settings default to 64, but the available range goes from 32 to 248.

What is the impact of changing these values, and what is the desired target?

Does anybody know about a good white paper that describes BIOS settings in detail?

    Check here:

Best to leave it at 64 in most cases, especially if any ISA cards are in the system.

According to my Asus manual it says for optimal performance leave it at 32.

It's best to check with your manual.
