Your PC100 memory should be fine with one caveat: if it is a cheap off-brand RAM it could be prone to problems not seen in a name brand such as Micron (random data errors, crashes, etc.).

Some chipsets from the same manuf. have proven to be much better/worse than others.

Can only comment on some reports I have seen.

What level of performance do you consider good, versus 70/30.
