Texas Instruments has rolled out a high definition (HD) video processor that could cut the cost of HD-capable video cameras and digital picture frames by more than half.

As it says, good for a door bell or security camera. I wouldn't expect much more past that... ....HD capabilities to a wide variety of low-cost products...

encode or decode at 720p and 30 frames per sec (good), as well as JPEG encode or decode at 50 megapixels per sec (ideal for editing!!!).
No bizarre codecs - only stardard JPEG (something like DV or DVCPRO format).
This is a smart configuration for REAL work.
