Writing 2 - 4 GB Files With MSP 5.2 VE

Is it possible to create or edit AVI files greater than 2 GB with MSP 5.2 VE? Uwe states in his soft MJPEG codec page that by using soft codecs instead of the Rainbow Runner's, he was able to create files that exceeded 2 GB. I attempted this and got an error when I went over that limit.

So... how would I do this?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

what I wrote was that if you use the Paradigm codec by replacing the Matrox codec, you are limiting your projects (!) to 2GB.

And if you are using the Paradigm or Morgan codecs in addition to the Matrox codec you are not limited to 2 GB with your projects.

But this was meant for cutlist editing and writing the project only to tape.

Unfortunately you won´t be able to produce one avi-file >2GB or to process an avi-file >2GB.

    Bye, Uwe.

Uwe, thanks for the clarification. I guess I was caught up in "wishful thinking" and read something into your write-up that wasn't really there. :-)

Sure would be nice to find some software that supports the OpenDML standard for playback or encoding...

      Thanks again,
      Kevin
