DirectX 7 with Marvel G200 (4.33)?

Has anyone tried this? I installed dx7 and now I get a Matrox Diagnostic startup error message, that says an old version of directX is installed. Is this normal?

I haven't had any functional problems yet...

I have older powerdesk installed (v 4.16.020) it does the same thing, direct x seems to work fine though.
