Got a new computer..What do I need??

I just got a new computer and camcorder and want to know what I need to start to make "minni videos" and how much it'll cost and where I can get the stuff (store or webpage). I want something that has good quality but dont want to spend over 1,000 USD. What do you suggest??

Can you supply some more information about the harddrive space you've got in your new PC and what kind of videocard you have? That should make it a lot easier for us.
