Recommend a good value 3mp camera

Well, gotta have something in here that's not offtopic or pictures of babies and dogs

Well, as the title says. I know we've covered some of this ground before, but I know some people love giving advice.

Price range £200 - probably translates to about 250 USD for similar products I guess...

3 megapixels is apparently quite good.

    Compact Flash preferred I think.

    Optical zoom if possible.

    Ideas?

    Thanks

    Gnep

    Hey Gnep!

First look here to see what suits you, get an idea of the price and read a thorough review. I like Canon, but everybody has their preferences.
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
    Who cares?

        ...this one is very handy.

For just a bit over that you could get a Minolta Dimage F100 (if you shop around). Very good, stylish and small 4mp 3x zoom camera with full auto or manual controls.

I heard the Canon A70 is not bad either (I think it is 3 megapixels).
(dpreview is working on a couple of new reviews of this range of cameras, I believe the A70, F100 are amongst them)

BelgiumDigital is not bad ( http://www.belgiumdigital.com, but the forums are mainly in Dutch)

The F100 has been reviewed by dpreview - bear in mind that at the time the review was written, it cost twice as much as now, so of course the standards it was compared against were higher.
