Multiplier higher than 13?

Anyone knows how to up the multiplier on the ABit KT7 (or the KT133 non-A in general) to something higher than 13? In the BIOS there's a setting 12,5 ~ 17, when I set it at this I get a multiplier of 13.
Now I'd more like 15x or 16x....

Me too.. My A7V manual say you can set the FSB/PCI to 133/33
but i am not sure whether my duron650 can take that amt of fsb
a change, (i read somewhere of a duron running at 133 but i
guess they may be a newer batch anyone know anything about
this?). The official limit for the A7V is 1200Mhz(100) recommended
by AMD but in theory it MIGHT support 1600Mhz(133) using the
multiplier of 12 (A7V supports up to 12.5).

I am rather reluctant to try o/c the chipset as i dont want to
replace my mobo (VIA dont stand high in my book for o/c)

Has anyone tried o/c VIA KT133?

A7V has become my favourite mobo (it has almost everything)
(7 usb support, AGP pro, ATA100(even if it is by promise),etc)
The only regret is that i could not wait for A7V133

The Duron should almost certainly take the FSB change, the problem is your North Bridge. Most KT133's won't do 133MHz stable.

You guys may have to play with the bridges on your CPU to change its multiplier, and then just "re-lock" it.

I believe that with the latest Abit BIOS (3C, I think) the 5X multiplier is routed to 14X. In fact heres a link to the page that shows it (under the 3C BIOS) http://www.icrontic.com/faq/index.ph...nt_id_select=4 Hope this helps (slightly at least).

Is there anyplace you can check from which clockspeed Duron
supports 133Mhz FSB ?

Anyway, i mainly wanted to find whether the KT133 could support
133Mhz FSB so that i can drop in a 1200Mhz(133) or 1400Mhz
(133) Athlon onto my A7V.. dont really feel like upgrading right
now as Athlon4 is coming in soon and it requires the newer type
of PSU as well. I want to maximize my current pc, then assemble
a new one based on Athlon4.

NO Durons "support" 133MHz FSB, but most will handle it. The hangup is that the KT133 doesn't support 133MHz FSB either, but most of them can't handle it (The KT133A supports 133MHz).

If you up your FSB w/o changing your multiplier, then your Duron will also take a 33% speed boost, which it might not be able to handle. You'll probably have to change its multiplier.

This is a slight understatement.I don't believe ANY (non-modified and not liquid-oxygen cooled) KT133 ever made it over 115MHz FSB. You'll get 105-108 MHz safely, 110 if you're lucky. Anything over 110 is fantasy. This is why the KT133A (and KT133E) were developped.
So with these boards you have to rely on the multiplier for oc'ing, ehich is where my problem lies: I've got a shiny new AYHJA TBird (those are reported to hit 1600 or even 1700 MHz ) but a KT133 based board. Multiplier settins seem to end at 13x so the highest l can achieve is 13x108=1404MHz - 13*110=1430MHz. But this is not really stable, so currently I have to settle at 105*13=1365MHz.

As his board won't hit anywhere near 133MHz FSB this is academic, but the 33% overclock should be no problem as most Durons seem to be able to roughly hit 1 GHz, if you're lucky 1,05. A Duron 650 @133MHz would only run at 865 MHz, I guess any Duron out there should manage this speed.

Thanks, this is exactly what I'm looking for - but there's only mention of the KT7A boards. I still tried it, but unfortunately the 5x multiplier-setting didn't work at all, not even post.
Maybe time to get a DDR board (dreaming of 140MHz FSB with a 12x multiplier and DDR Ram ).

The X5 multiplyer on the KT7 9(3C) bios only shows that it's a X14, it still only clocks at X5. And like Indiana your still likely to experience a non-posting bios, this is the same with the 3R bios as well.
X14 is only available if you have a 1.4ghz athlon with the L1 bridges disconnected.

I can only get a 1.4GHz 266FSB to around 1495Mhz(13X115) on a KT7-RAID(stabily). Still not too bad though, hehe.
