KvH, let me know when you're ready to dump the dual katmai setup, I'm kinda interested (at the right price of course)

What would the right price be, Dil?

              I have
              2 Pentium 3s@600MHz
512MB Corsair Registered ECC SDRAM CAS2 (BRAND new)
              Tyan Thunderbolt GX Motherboard with
              Adaptec Dual Channel LVD SCSI
              Ensoniq Audio PCI
              Intel 10/100 NIC

There's the package.. make me an offer I can't refuse

Just as a warning, I'm lazy and you gotta entice me to pull this thing apart, so offer as much as you would conceivably pay and I might sell it.

              Kind Regards,

              KvH

so broke that he can only dream of a Dual Athlon system on his huge desktop that beckons him to play games like Q3, and Asheron's Call........just to prove how slow his P-3 550 was 8)

If I had the money, I'd definately go for the Tyan Tiger MP board and slap two Palominos into it ...

I would wait and see what a P4 Northwood with SMT ~ hyperthreading would offer and at what price of course.

I'm thinking of building a dream system right now:

                          Tyan Tiger MB: $220
                          1.4GHz TBird: 2 x $140
                          1GB of Crucial DDR2100: 4 x $36 (inc. shipping)
                          G400 MAX : free
                          60GB 60gxp drive : $148 + 9

The look on MY face when I rip and encode a DivX movie in 4 hours: priceless.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
