Looking for Toshiba firmware
Must have the region free firmware patch for a Toshiba 1401 (1008) DVD drive... anyone have an active link or can send to me?

Good Luck in finding that !
99.999 % of all newer Toshiba Drives are 3 gen. DVD drives and use some new Hardware which NO ONE have been able to .... hmmm ... yet !
Don't know if your particular DVD drive is one of them !
But you could always RIP the DVD in question and play it from your HDD ! ( I know ... it's a pain in the ... to do that )
I have tried using a DVD drive set to region 1 to play back a Region 2 movie with Win XP .. and it works !
Don't know why or how ... but it doesn't change the Region of the Drive ! The only problem is the poor playback quality you get when using the Media Player in Win XP !

Found another one..can't read what's on the page, but the links seem to work..downloaded a patch from here for 1008 made by some named sjwinck
Hope it's any good (I personally wouldn't dare do this,)

I've seen that RCP-1 patch at http://perso.club-internet.fr/farzeno/firmware/ as well as firmware 1009!
