Which slot1 mobo of yesteryear?

If you can get one, the AOpen AX6BC Pro II Millennium Edition was the best Slot 1 motherboard I ever used. Any of the AX6BC boards are great choices, however. They're practically bullet proof, and the later models were fast and had very tweakable BIOS's.

I've never used the Asus P3B-F, but I'm still using a P2B-F. It's also very stable and fast and very easy to work with. Abit also made a ridiculously stable late model BX board. I doubt you can go wrong with any of the late model BX boards from AOpen, Asus, or Abit. They had almost three years to get boards based on chipset right, and they all did.

A thought just hit me, I recently acquired a Soyo 6BAIV BX based mobo, anyone knows hos stable this thing is? It currently has a 300MHz P-II in it. I wonder if I could put an 850 FCPGA 850 on a slocket in it, hmm, or a 900 MHz Skellion erm Celeron

ASUS P3B-F...no contest. They are fast, stable and damn near bulletproof.

I now have 6 of them in my lab for general purpose video and audio editing, although the changes in MSPro 6.5 makes a change likely this summer/fall. The P4 and Athlon systems I have recently built makes that point obvious.

For use in a server you couldn't ask for a better single PIII board.

I would second MultimediaMan, i had a gigabyte 6BXE for a year and half and it worked great for me .. very stable board, now i have a 6BXC which isn't bad either .. the same but with only 3 ram slots, and 4 pci, while the 6BXE has 4 ram slots and 5 pci ..
dunno bout the BX2000 though ..

Gigabyte makes really good stable boards, but it's not that famous because it doesn't have voltage settings in the bios like asus and abit .. but that was in the past .. i think they changed that now.

but they r very stable.
