Is it possible to listen to AC3 encoded WAV files on a computer ?
Is there an audio player capable of outputting music in ac3 / dts ?

I've found some ac3 encoded music files and since I have a HT system connected to my computer, I want to hear it in 5 speakers and not convert it to stereo.

All the audio software I have plays this wav as white noise.

Have you tried using DVD player software? Usually they can read AC3 audio files. If they're WAV files with the AC3 audio in them, I think those are meant to be burned to CD and played as Dolby Digital CDs. I'm not entirely sure though. Maybe someone else here has more info?

I know that the bundled software with Audigy cards has the ability to decode AC3. (Not sure about encode)
