Well I don't know about XP's stability but Win2k is the only OS that managed to stay on my HD for more than 2 years without a need to reinstall it. Been using it since the beta days and I am still disapointed with Matrox not offering G200 Marvel Drivers.

        Oh feh, Technoid.

You just have bad luck in general with MS operating systems.

XP is faster than Win2k, with the possible exception of RAID performance. Period.

As for stability, it hasn't been out long enough to know for sure, but my machine runs days on end without crashing, just like Win2k... *shrug*

          Sorry to disappoint you but:

W95 (org) worked on most machines…(at that time frame)
W95B Worked great on most old and new HW (still works great on very new HW )
W98&SE as long as WDM is avoided it is well behaved os.
WinME (aka More Errors) Best Avoided, known to spontaneous BSOD’s
W2000 Probably the best OS that Microsoft has done….
WinXP (aka eXtra Problems) Same guys that are responsible for ME seems to have been involved

I don’t call it to have had “bad luck” when I only have had really horrid problems with XP!
And it’s not just me; I have received more bad feedback about XP than the rest of the OS combined…
Sure, some people (me included) did not like ME, but that number pale in comparison with those that plain dislikes XP after using it for some time….
But we have sold a lots of W2K licences because it

W2K has proved loads faster and more stable than XP on my machine.

            Specs:

            Duron 1200
            ECS K7S5A
            384MB PC133

Gurm may be a troll but he isn't MS's troll. So he likes their stuff, so what?

Now that I think about it... Gurm might be more an orge than a troll....
