Well, I've been looking at a lot of cooling options for my upcoming comp and came across this. I'll be overclocking of course and want to overclock as much as possible. I was just wondering, if I was to go this route, what else would I need rather than these kits? I'm not too familiar with this type of cooling and am not sure of the disadvantages of it. I know it is more expensive than any traditional cooling, but from reviews it looks like the trade off is well worth it and I am willing to pay the extra bucks. Any info or opinions on this are welcome. Thanks.

...dunno about this one, but whatever they say, I understand you still need to watch out for condensation, for example on a rainy day...How can you possibly take anything seriously?

Well, I'll be careful to watch for that. But would I just need the simple parts for the CPU, or is there something else I would need in addition to this kit? It looks like the kit is designed to hook up to something else but I'm not sure what...System Specs:

I don't understand how the CPU cooler works though. I mean would I need to get some kind of compressor that I would hook it up to?System Specs:

All you need is the pelt, Budd.. just slap that puppy on there and hook er up! The higher the wattage the better! That's the cool thing about peltiers.. no noisy fans or messy water pumps..

that's one of the issues... you most likely will need another PS... a fairly good sized one to power the pelt. the kit contains everything you need for their setup (cept PS) and minimal material to prevent condensation from forming.
But I wouldn't bother with this setup without knowing the pelt specs (as above). If you're talking XP cpu you're really going to need at least a 156w pelt (@12v ~13amps), neoprene to seal out the moisture, white silicone HS compound as AS3 won't work. A decient say 2²" x .5" copper cold plate and a means to bolt it all together and power it. all you need to keep that pelt cool is a nice layer of cooking oil applied evenly to the outer surface.. don't bother with the water jacket..Comment

Definitely. Then again, part of my main interest would be making my system quieter, anyway.
Generally speaking, adding Peltier systems makes your computer louder. They add yet another layer of inefficiency to the net wattage of your computer. So, you're likely to need even <I>more</I> airflow/noise to keep the system happy.
