Ok, my boss wants me to create a standard image file we can use to install on all of our comps here at work. We don't have any imaging tool, and he told me I couldn't crack any software as we could get in trouble for it. So I was wondering if there was a HD image tool out there that was freeware and would make a self extractable and bootable image of a HD. I've been looking everywhere with no avail. Any info would be appreciated.

Well, he doesn't want to buy anything, and I sure the hell am not buying it for him. *shrugs* I found a lot of good freeware programs, but none of them do everything that I need them to do. Still looking....if anyone happens to come across one please let me know, thanks.System Specs:

Get a Linux boot floppy. <I>dd</I> can be used to move images around.Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.Comment

There are some free tools awailable from Western digital to copy your data to new hard drive.Comment

Doesnt DOS XCOPY do that if you want to be cheap.
I dont know what the problem with GHOST is, it comes free on most motherboard driver CDs.
Go through your CDs, you might just have a copy of it lying around anyway.
