    ClearType?

    Hi!

Sitting in front of my parents 17" Compaq Tft monitor with DVI-connection and wondering if I should use ClearType or not. Microsoft claims that text get better with cleartype but I don't agree. Anyone else thinks cleartype decreases text quality?

    Yes, I do.
It makes the text much too blurry for my taste.

On CRTs where I tried it it decreased the quality. Don't know about LCDs but it's claimed that it works better there.

Many hate ClearType. I love it, even on CRTs. But to make use of it without the text appearing too blurry you have to use a quite high resolution, say 1152x864 in 17" or 1280x960 in 19".
