The 4416 laser issue is a known but not admitted (AFAIK) fault in that drive, that basically obliterated the good reputation Yamaha had with the CDR100

I'll throw in a self-update: my 4416S gave up the ghost (although we found the PSU in its external box was bad, that's probably what killed it), so I got a CRW-F1 with the SCSI converter thingy. Let's see how it goes...Blah blah blah nick blah blah confusion, blah blah blah blah frog.Comment
