I doubt those forums will be as fun as this one though.

I doubt it too but I need some help with my Radeon 9000 Pro. I still plan on hanging out here as I still see myself as a Matrox user. I needed a newer card and the P was WAAYYY too expensive.

As shocking as it might be for you, you can get more than good support for most hardware right here in this forum.

Post it here, even though it's the "M(atrox) URC" there are some people who can still help you out.

I need help getting it to work in X windows on FreeBSD... I tried the alternative lifestyles section while I had my G400 in my box and got no response. It's a virtual ghost town in there.

Ever since BeOS died, Alternative lifestyles is not as lively as it's been.

For ATI, there's rage3d (already suggested).

For nVidiot, there's Driver Heaven - which is also a good place for ATI... since it's the home (and forum site) for the Omega and Omega/Plutonium driversets.

                      for ATI, rage3d.com
                      for nVidia, nVnews.net

I don't like neither one very much. (though right now I have GF 256 DDR @ 2nd computer and Radeon AIW 2 first one.)

Or try posting it in a GHW thread. Most Linux threads now seem to be in here too, don't see why BSD shouldn't join it.

Speaking for myself, I never read Alternate Lifestyles, even though I could maybe offer advice. DV I also don't regular, just when I'm bored. Maybe AL should be integrated into GHW (sorry, GHW/SW now ).

For german ATI users, there's the ATI-News forum.
We try to keep this forum at an acceptable level and keep the NVidiot / fanATIc kiddies out. Only in german, though

Sorry can't help with your specific problem, as I don't use BSD and never have heard of BSD drivers for the newer ATI cards.

The drivers are not specific to bsd (if they exist) They're for Xfree86. If they do exist I would most likely need help installing them

It doesn't work with the drivers included in the newest XFree? Are you looking for 3D acceleration or just basic 2D functionality?

At ATI there are currently only XFree drivers for the R8500 downloadable:

I don't know if they work on the 9000 as well, but it is at least worth a try.
