ATI Gforce FX crusher in production

Nvidea goes ouch. Hopefully the drivers will be up to spec and also the first boards won't have the agp x8 problems rev 1.0 9700 had.

LOL. It will still suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.

And double as a leaf blower.

Thats good news for us, as 9700pro will become a lot cheaper when the R350 is launched (i bet it will be called 9900). 9700pro will easily cost 1/2 of the GFFX then with comparable performance.

I don't know who besides a handful of die hard nVidia fanboys will buy a GFFX then. I'm curious how the nVidia marketroids will try to turn this into sth. positive.

Hopefully ATI will solve the dual head problem under XP where the wrong monitor drivers get used for your monitor. The end result for me is 60hz in games unless I'm lucky. ATI reckon it's an XP problem. I bet people using the P with a CRT and LCD don't have this problem.

            LOL@technoid.

anyone else notice the article said...

"Many facts are already known. The R300 will be built on a 150 nanometer process. It is basically an overclocked R300 with eight rendering pipelines and two texture units per pipeline. "

            Shouldn't the first "R300" be an "R350"?

I wouldn't count on 2TMU's per pipe in any future card. My limited knowledge of 3d tells me that that is not the way of the future.

                Hey Pit, go here

Those drivers have worked perfectly for me since i got my AIW8500, and you get higher refresh rates in games, so i guess its an ATI problem

I can get to work at 85hz but there doesn't seem any set method of doing it just click and your games are suddenly running at 85hz.

                    Err...

That's called "Windows XP Default Functionality".

You want it different, there are a million apps/utils out there that do it for you. I personally use PowerStrip.
