    New ATi Catalyst 3.1 drivers available...

    Just noticed those Radeon drivers, when surfing at FutureMark's web site.

    Take them here, if you are interested:

        Just tried them on my rig and UT seems choppy, framerate is better but not as smooth as it was before.

        Might just need to restart my system but hey, lazy.

          Is the 16bpp FSSA offered by these drivers only for D3d?? or does it work in Open GL too??

              Ut2003 is stuffed for me with these drivers. It goes black every few seconds, but carries on in the background.

              Everything else seems ok though.

                It's not that I want to run games in 16 bit it's just that with some older games there is no choice especially when they are D3d.

                  I like the speed claims. Somehow I don't believe them but it will be interesting if the slow performance on some maps on UT2003 will be solved with everything on Max.

                    The speed claims are, for the most part, true.

                    Perhaps exaggerated a bit, but people are seeing speedups in UT2003 like...

                    80->110fps
                    40->60fps

                    That sort of thing. So in some cases 40% isn't an exaggeration.

                    As for the problems... did those of you having issues remember to COMPLETELY uninstall the old drivers, including a registry wipe?

                      Any sites have new benches (esp against the FX) with these new drivers?

                      Sounds like they'll be out with 3.11's (or so) soon with the little glitches.

                        Well, they certainly boosted the anti-aliasing FPS on my R8500... "Tempest gets +20% AA".

                          Poor Nvidia....It is a Cruel Irony that ATI releases genuinely new drivers before Geforce FX is out the door...

                          Remember ATI releasing their 8500, then Nvidia released a driver set that increased performance (While screwing visual quality) of the Geforce 4.... Oh, Cruel Irony, indeed.

                          Take THAT, Nvidia!

                              or is it more likely these are proper drivers suited to 3dmark03?
