    It seems they may be using optimized SIMD code the the celeron doesn´t support.

      That's possible, but the P4 and Athlon don't share the same SIMD instruction sets, SSE2 for the P4 vs MMX+/3DNow+ for the Athlon's. Time will tell I guess.

        Yes, the celeron tualatin had SSE right? I was missing it. It would be kind of stupid to optimize for 3dNow and SSE2 and leaving SSE out.

        But if only celeron users (what about PIII?) are experiencing it, then they must have done something on the drivers celly doesn´t support.

        It almost reminds me of G400 TurboGl. Those were the days

          Just looked up P3/8500/Cat 3.2 users on the 3dmark03 ORB, and it looks like they're getting the same thing, no VS speed boost either. The Celeron tualatin has SSE and everything, it's virtually identical to the P3.
