hmm....as crap as it sounds, you could "kind of" of get 30 bit colour from a parhelia if you used an analogue connector on the LCD...bleh.
I would like to see 256 shade/intensity bands for each colour before I would say an LCD displays 8 bits per channel.
They are certainly getting better, it was not to long ago using anything but 16bit colour was pointless on LCD.
