besides, not many have cheap duron/K7S5A AND half gig of ddr ram...(it comes I guess from the fact that if you have one of the cheapest cpu and board (which btw supports sdr...) and want a lot of ram it's unlikely you'll go the ddr way...or maybe I'm little biased in drawing such conlusions because here ddr (especially the 512 modules) is still over 2 times the price of sdr...)
I did read it, and my conclusion is that it can be either DDR _or_ SDR SDRAM

dZeus, I didn't see many boards with cas 3 for ddr...or maybe it's just that we don't have here so crappy ram after all...

            because all have cas 2,5...

CAS 3 is (will be?) JEDEC standard for DDR400

It is present in the K7S5A along with CAS 2.5 and 2.

how does CAS 2.5 fit in with SDR?

and I never said that CAS3 is limited to DDR400 operation _exclusively_, did I? I just gave an example that it exists for DDR

Nuno, that was the 1029 bios and not the 1129. It is installed so I will try the 512 stick again.
