I'd like to see M$ write a better search engine than Google ... ROFL. I'm not saying it's impossible, but Google is already deeply intrenched and constantly getting more people on their service.

what scares me is not the fact that they try to best google (I'd be happy to have an even better search engine) but I wouldn't want them to kill google in the hope of getting their market. that'd be a win for MS but a loss for everyone else...and MS *DOES* have a f*cking lot of money to burn...Comment

well, you know MSFT has the advantage tho. They will do anything to make their search engine a success, i.e. integrate it into Windows and IE.
Just look at Xbox. Everybody thinks PS2 will crash it coz they think MSFT can't make game + game consoles. But hey... Xbox is quite popular now a days.
