yes, surely any corel wordperfect 5.x 6.x can be read with ms word (plays silly buggers with formatting though). As above, you may be missing some software. Then again, i dont run XP, so i could be wrong...I hate flankers...Comment

Office XP can translate and open Wordperfect docs ... just not perfectly.
File -> Open, select 'Wordperfect 6.x (8.wpd, *.doc)' from the 'Files of type' drop down box.
