Because there are tons of expensive custom made ISA boards (multiple modems, data acquisition, industrial control) and there is a market for it.

I recall Nowhere asking for Tualatin board with ISA slots here not too long ago.

I had an ISA SCSI card for my Umax 1220S Scanner. The Umax SCSI cards are special, and is not the noraml type... I couldn't find a PCI version of it so I forced myself to buy a new scanner...

I will buy this motherboard if I haven't brought mine already! lol...

The Soyo SY-P4I 845PE ISA based on the 845PE chipset has 3 ISA slots (2 independent, 1 shared w/another PCI). Its selling at my local computer store! However, its quite expensive.

Yeah, I noticed that board - I was interested until I saw that. Nothing against ISA, ISA boards can stay where they are - in my legacy systems

I was curious as to whether it would be a one-off...so, two so far - any others?

Apparently soyo has 4 current boards that have ISA as well.

It may be niche market, but I realise now that there are quite a few cutom ISA cards out there and getting PCI equivalents made would be very expenisive..

It is suprising how much electronic development equipment still uses ISA and serial/parallel ports...etc (prom burners/emulaters..etc)

Well...I gues they would not make them if they could not sell them

Some devices simply cannot be ported to PCI easily.

Umax Astra 2200 SCSI + USB works flawlessly with Adaptec 2904PCI,
