English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

Home PC is now only on when I need it (but when I have my own home back it'll be on most of the time again).

I never turn off my work PC or my web/mail server.

would you call sending the PC into hibernation / standby-mode shutting it down?

                    On - 24 x 7

The only time I shut it down is when I think it needs "blown out". Which seem to be right around 4 months.

I leave my work computer on all week and shut it down for the weekend. My Home PC's are only on when needed
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

The one in my room I shutdown every night, cuz too noisy, and the one in the office, almost never, maybe a couple of times a month at most...unless it's stormy weather...gone through one to many PSUs now...

Server is up as long as possible...10 days record so far.
My PC is shut down all day, and is only on when i'm there...
(Managed to extend all the cables, and rid my room of the PC box and noise, but its in an open cupboard, and clothes hanging above it. If it caught fire, it could be dangerous....
Then again, many times have i left the iron on all day...

Server is on all the time (W2K3 server, wickedly stable, it's only gone down for power failures so far). Desktop is only on when in use (noisy), and laptop is usually suspended, and rebooted when it gets sluggish, usually after a week or two.
