Unless you are actively downloading and uploading from a lot of connections, (like many p2p apps do) net performance isn't heavily degraded for webbrowsing

Yes, this is really most useful for people using stuff like eMule, which sometimes uses up to 1000 simultaneous connections (or more, depending on your settings).

Yes, I use HTB under linux. Works great on overnet

Also, using the linux kernel to do NAT is much better than most ADSL routers when using things like emule and running emule servers.

Most ADSL routers fall over if they try to NAT more than 250 or so connections at once.

Upload/download ratio is bad here, too - 768/128, but it's almost fast enough for me

of course my "visitors" (about 20 people who are intersted in the pics at all, most still using ISDN/56k) won't get the best web-experience ever, but it should suffice.

www.webhostlist.de says there's one for 1,60 EUR/Month with unlimited space (though only 1 GB transfer), 1 domain, CGI/PERL, PHP3, PHP4, SSI, MySQL, POP3, mail forwarder, autoresponder, webmail, logfiles, statistics, webinterface, cronjobs, for private or commercial use, erotic and download allowed, reselling allowed, 10 subdomains, 10 email addresses, support answers usually within 24 hours, FTP... additional traffic costs 1.60 EUR per GB (pre-pay), or 77 ct per 100 MB, if you go over pre-paid traffic. The only downside is they want a 12 month contract. Sign-up costs 15 EUR, which is very fair, too.

my dsl line will most likely be upgraded during the next months, so it can only get better.
