    QOS
    eh.. get 2 XP machines with QOS enabled amd then copy a 1 gig file.

    Remove QOS from networking and try it again....about 10 times faster.
    I have reproduced many times.

    Same has proven true for the networked accounting software we do, krap performance when QOS is used.
