    Matrox DeskNav style desktop extending

At least some thread in The Lounge proved usefull
Thanks to the one about microwebsite I've remembered about something...

Is there a way to have desktop in higher resolution than physical resolution on the monitor? Something like DeskNav, with scrolling the screen when you touch the border, but with the pixels in native size and with greater area of desktop instead of making the pixels bigger without changing desktop area.

GXX drivers used to do this in NT Workstation, don't know about 2k - it's called virtual desktop.

WRT to 9x - IIRC this was not in 9x OS's.

It isn't present in XP, so I'd guess that is the way in 2k either (the same pack of drivers after all...)

Finding the way to use NT 4.0 drivers on XP?
      Better than nothing I guess

I'd post in Tech support forum in your place.

I never liked this desktop style myself.

Virtual desktop was a part of good old Powerdesk 4.xx.
It was removed from PD5 and later.
I think there are some 3rd party utils that do this, but no names come to mind....
