NV realeased a set of drivers that had $%#$ed up UDE drivers. The very latest drivers from NV actually don't have an NV IDE component. I am not sure what happens when you install them?, it may just force the IDE drivers back to the default MS ones...

If you go into the device manager what is the version,manufactrurer and date on the IDE device driver on your system?

Interestingly, it would work for me but lock up if my brother-in-law was logged in.
The cd burner would just lock up with the burn light on and I'd have to restart to get it to get it wake up.

It turned out that if anyone tried to burn a music cd using the wizard it would lock after writing the list of filenames on the cd.

Try burning without the wizard.

Crap, I wish I would have read this last night...the system is in its home now, at my friend's house. I'll check it out next time I'm over if I remember.
