    IM Spam Blocker for Trillian!

Well, this has just been the week of kickass little helper apps.

An old-ish plugin for Trillian was given new life last week. It's called "Spam Challenge".

What it does, is whenever someone who ISN'T on your buddy list tries to message you, this plugin automatically sends them a (customizable) message like this:

"This is an automated attempt to discover if you are a human, have basic typing skills, and can read. If you fail any of these criteria, Gurm has no desire to talk to you.

Please type "I'm not worthy!" (sans quotes) now, or your messages will never reach their intended destination."

    It kicks ass.

All the AIM porn spam I've been getting... is now being zapped into the ether!

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
    I would still get screwed

Hmm, I never get IM spam. Why not? And yes, unknown people can add me.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

I never got spam either. I'm thinking it has to do with ZoneAlarm for me, who knows...?

          Helevitia - ZA shouldn't matter.

Gurm - I don't get IM spam (I used to on ICQ when I published my online status), but if I do, I'll use that. Cool.
