Not at all; lighted USB cables will be extremely useful, and IMO should have been in the spec since day one. No question of whether it's been plugged in right, or if the USB port is broken. Lighted USB cables are an extremely sensible thing to do IMO.

Esp. if they would have a button on either side to switch on the lights when you need it...
(so that you can have them off not to distract too much)
