How to fix a scratch in a monitor?

I have a small ( 1cm) scratch in the anti glare coating of my Trinitron monitor, which has the unfortunate effect of working like a magnifying glass, making it really stand out.
The question is: is there a way to fix such a scratch?.. is polishing it out an option? How much would polishing it mess with the anti glare coating? or should I just learn to live with it?

    Thanks .

Your only option is, unfortunately, to remove the anti-glare coating completely

Here's how to do this best (scroll down to "May I take your coat(ing)?").
