Unfortuneatly nvidia are the only ones that have a decent outlook on linux, as much as I wish it were not so, my next video card will in all likely hood be a nvidia card (as is my current mobo)
, ATI and matrox are too willling to believe the fud a about % markets without thinking about cause and effect

Flame if you like, but for work I just selected a Quadro FX 1100.
Haven't really put it through its paces yet, since I'm getting an upgraded box in a month, and I don't feel like adding in all my software just to turn around and do it agian.
I have done some light CAD work, however, and it is performing rather nicely so far.
CEMSystem: P4 2.4, 512k 533FSB, Giga-Byte GA-8PE667 Ultra, 1024MB Corsair XMS PC333, Maxtor D740x 60GB, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, PCPower&Cooling Silencer 400.

so in terms of 3d gaminig you guys are saying R3X0 is better than NV40?
and if you mean R4x0 will be better than NV40, have you seen one yet?
Personally, I don't think its right to compare different cards for different purpose. NV is purely designed for gaming in mind. ATI is multimedia oriented. Matrox is 2D. Bitboys is... i don't know...Comment
