Optical out on audigy broken?
The optical out on my sb audigy platinum does not work anymore. I checked for some setting in the drivers but did not find anything, so how high is the probability that it is just broken?

yep
just reinstalled the drivers and the problem seems to be that it doesnt recognize my live drive. now i just have to find out why, and how to fix it

Be sure you chose the Platinum version of you drivers because Audigy and Audigy platinum are in fact very different (software-wise speaking). Also don't get the drivers for platinum if you had a simple version with a hardware upgrade.Let those who want to be simple, be simple.Comment

It didnt let me chose that option during install, dont know why. is there something like a soundblaster uninstall tool to remove everything?Comment

Make sure you have the power connector plugged into the live drive.... I know I accidentally unplugged mine when I was playing around in my computer, and then when I went to a friend's for a LAN party, I couldn't hear any sound (I use the front audio jack of the Live Drive for headphones). Other than that, I would just reseat the cables for it as well, the one that connects from the Audigy to the Live Drive.
Speaking of this... I still need to uninstall the newest drivers, then install off the CD (so I can get all the extra crap) then run the updates....
Oh well, for another day...
