Assuming they're both the same/similar core revision, and you want to overclock it, get the 2500+. Even for stock speed I think the 2500+ is a better deal. -

Mobile Barton? Either one. I don't know if the 2600s really have that much more headroom on average. Luck of the draw is still more important if you want a good overclocker. Just get a damn good heatsink and lap it to a mirror finish.

I got a Thermalright SP97 and the bottom is pretty rough. Here's an article on lapping..

It really helps to get the surface very smooth and flat so that the heat can be transferred evenly. The grits used in the article are pretty rough. I used 400, then 600,800,1000,1500, and 2000 in succession, then polished it with Nevr-Dull wadding. The resulting finish was smooth as glass.
Look into the Mobile Bartons, btw.. best overclocking chip out there. My 2500+ is running cool at 2.4GHz, and they are already unlocked.Comment

Get the 2500+. From the oc sites I noticed there was a difference there, but not really from the 2500 to the 2600.Comment
