I duno about you, but i was able to pull of some headshots with this baby when i was into CS
but you are right, mouse is somewhat easier~
but i prefer trackball when playing RTS games, like starcraft/warcraft

I don't even use a mouse pad, i have my optical mouse sitting directly on my desk and it's perfect.
