    Soundblaster prob

    A strange one:

    SB live value card on win98 - gateway pc (old PIII 600) - sound works fine but install is virus and ad ridden.

    Fresh install and sound refuses to come through front speaker outlet?

    ideas? i'm stumped

      I've seen corrupt SB drivers do the strangest things. Try a driver re-install, even though everything looks fine.
      Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

          did that several times, solved it in the end though. The driver is a specific gateway one and has digital out enabled only by default (hidden deep in a sub menu) - argh. works fine now
